Sharing the Love for Gardens and Nature
I am Florence Micoud, 20 years a local.
I had the idea of a guided garden tour business while visiting a friend’s garden after the first lockdown.
The joy of sharing, the delight of admiring!
In its fifth year, tours run twice daily from October 2024 to April 2025 and visits 12 different gardens on different days of the week.
The latest season welcomed 30% more locals, visitors, kiwi and international tourists than the previous year. We all enjoy it!
Our garden tours business comes from a genuine desire to share the beauty and joy of gardens and nature at large. Beautiful Gardens of Wānaka has allowed private gardeners to share their love for gardening and the fruits (and flowers) of their mahi / work without necessarily needing to be involved with the business of guiding visitors.
Our goals is to guide our guests to perceive and love the bounty gardens and nature so generously offer.

Care for the Planet
Gardening is in itself caring and enhancing the land and biodiversity. Our business is regenerative intrinsically.
From our hybrid van to packaging free snacks, we limit our negative impact (eg. oil extraction, waste) and maximise our contribution: tree planting, habitat creation and sharing the knowledge around these sustainable practices, in the garden and beyond.
Our business is carbon neutral.
Care for People
We enjoy meeting our guests and ensure they are happy and comfortable throughout the tour. We adapt our tours to the needs of our guests. We offer help through steps or uneven terrain. Food allergies are taken into account in our refreshment offering. We can create a bespoke tour for wheelchair access. Only assistance dogs are allowed in all gardens of the tours. We will ask at the time of booking if you have special requirements.
We develop relationships with fellow passionate gardeners, the generous people who share their stories and their gardens with us. They receive a contribution for each visitor.
We work and discuss with the community to foster biodiversity, meaningful tourism and low-carbon living.
Care for Self
Life and work are one. Gardening is my passion, so sharing it with you in garden tours is easy and enjoyable. Learning more about plants, taking photos of gardens and the gardening itself of course, all enrich my work as a tour guide and the lives that we lead.
Our land, which is one of the many gardens of the tours, nurtures us greatly, from garden teas, fruit, veggies to contemplation, exercise and sharing, all for our wellbeing.
I love spending time in the garden, admiring plants and feeling grateful to nature. And I love sharing this in the tours.
