Te Kakano is a community-based nursery that grows and plants native trees to add to the biodiversity and beauty of our community and to offset carbon emissions. Te Kakano volunteers have planted 38,000 trees since 2011!
It costs $10 per tree:
- Most trees need to stay at the nursery for 2-3 years before planted –> $8
- Planting the plant costs another $2 for fertiliser and rabbit protection.
